DeGraffen Riverfront Residences & Yacht Club is being conceived by Bridge Pointe Development, LLC, headquartered in New Bern, North Carolina. The managing partner, Joseph E. Thomas, has a remarkable professional and business career that includes a long list of impressive achievements.

Mr. Thomas had a 26-year career at Weyerhaeuser Company as Senior Vice President/Eastern Region Manager and member of the Board of Directors. He was intimately involved in Weyerhaeuser’s real estate development, building and general construction management responsible for an annual volume of $140 million.

During his Weyerhaeuser tenure, Mr. Thomas was an important part of the team responsible for the development of Landfall in Wilmington, NC, one of the most successful and luxurious residential resort communities along the East Coast. Mr. Thomas received the President’s Award from George Weyerhaeuser in recognition of his contribution to Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company.

Mr. Thomas was a member of the North Carolina General Assembly and served as a Senator from 1979 to 1986. He received the Legislator of the Year Award from the North Carolina and National Wildlife Federations. He also served three four-year terms as a member of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors.

At State Insurance Services in Raleigh, North Carolina, Mr. Thomas serves as Director and Secretary-Treasurer. He is also a former partner, vice president, and COO of Stallings & Thomas Insurance, Inc., and a former partner of Business Insurers of the Carolinas.

Adding to his knowledge and expertise, Mr. Thomas is also a licensed real estate broker, general contractor and registered forester.
